Good Friday 2006

Me and Bf went to Mt. Singai (up to Church Level only) around noon. We were suppose to arrive earlier but we got lost, can't find the road leading to the place. I thought it was suppose to be after Pekan Tondong, but we search and search till Bau, then finally i called my friend who just went there for directions.:-p

Along the way up to the church, we saw ppl, young and old, carry with them at least one brick. We don't know why they did it, maybe its for some construction? I made frequents stops along the way up to rest.

Because it was quite late that time, whatever events/ functions for Good Friday has finished. We were looking for the way to go up to the peak, planning to go up to the peak on our next trip. :-) When my bf's ex colleague invited us to go up together. We rejected, cos i was afraid our water supply would not be enough.

Looks like cockroach

Big ant

After that, we went to Pekan Tondong for lunch, had Ayam Kampung cooked with ginger, kangkung belacan and rice. Sorry, was too hungry, didn't take any photos of the food. But it was $$, with these little food, it cost us rm23++ (including the drinks).

After lunch we proceeded to Bau, my bf wanted to go visit the caves. We stopped at Taman Batu, Bau for a while. And go kia kia.

Taman Batu

Poor turtle!

No lah..actually its fake..:-p

Scary looking orang utan statue

Then we continue on our journey. This is where another confusion happens, I notice the road was leading back to Kch, i thought may be my bf is tired wanted to go back liao until he said “eh, why Tasik Biru so far?” I told him Tasik Biru is on the other side ler, this road leads back to Kch. Then he laughed, well since don't have jodoh with the caves, we decided to proceed back to Kch.

Stay tuned for the next episode of Mt. Singai: The Peak.

Mango's new toy

Yesterday we bought a new toy for mango..it was a shiny blue ball we bought at Upwell's clearance sale at rm1.25 only.

She was excited of new toy..n gave it a chase around the living room..its a bouncy ball too

BUT!!!

A few minutes later, it was punctured by her when the poor little ball had no where else to roll to as it was cornered by Mango. No more shiny blue ball...only another chewy toy for her... LOL

I havn't even even played enough with the ball..

My last weekend

We brought mango on her weekly walk to the Hui Sing park last saturday..we walked at the places where there is less ppl..cos she tend to forget that she is on leash, and wanted to prounce on ppl each time a stranger pass by while barking. One particular uncle got shocked because of her.LOL..this Mango really “bu zhi liang li”, so small size want to tackle bigger size beings.TSK TSK TSK. Anyway, i tink mango had her first crush that evening..Usually when doggie meets, they sniff each other out...NOT on the butt mind u...its on the nose 1st, carefully, with approx 1cm apart..they sniffed and stared at each other. I didn't know the shih tzu she's sniifing at was a male..until the owner lifted him up after he refused to be apart from my mango..it was then i saw the XX..LOL...It was such a beautiful scene when they sniffed each other, with the sunset as back drop...it was like in the movie..when the actor and actress about to kiss..LOL..sayang i didn't bring my camera...when i remembered my bf's cam phone, it was too late...the shih tzu was away playing slides with the owners...but before he left..he was still gazing at my mango...my mango so attractive ya..so like the owner (ME)..LOL..ok..just kidding..my bf said that is mango's “chu lian”..i giggled..

On sunday, it was too hot to be at home..so i went out with my bf to Saberkas..we were lepak-ing, aimlessly...until we got a call...my bf seem shocked...his mum had a car accident, and hurt herself on the head.@@! We quickly rush to the scene..it was raining then, when we were there, we saw the 2 cars..wrecked on the front, my bf's mum was in another car, holding a tissue on her forehead, her shirt has drops and patches of blood. I was shocked indeed. Apparently, the other car was driving 60/70 km/h down the road in THE MIDDLE of the lane when my bf's sis was turning into the lane, resulting the 2 cars knocked each other on the head. That creep!thought the road is his meh?!The impact made my bf's sis car seem she's the one who knocked him! The other car driver even asked his friends come to help him...HAH!want to scare us meh?he havn't meet tiok my bf's dad, although he will be 60 his year, he's still HIONG oso..LOL...BTW, we met a very unconsiderate lady, she was driving her silver kancil, stopped at the junction, and yelled that if got problem, pls settle elsewhere, don't block her way home, as IF there's no other way home like that...the car already damaged, cannot move liao...she still BARK there..how stupid..but in the end, she got yelled back by my bf's dad n bro in law..LOL..baru then she drove away..me n my bf proceeded to send the injured to the nearest hospital...the Kuching Specialist Centre. By that time, his sis is stil shocked and crying. My bf requested for a scan on the skull for his mum to make sure she is ok, thank god she is ok and only required some stitches. The sis done some urine test and she was ok too. The aunt only had some bruises on her leg. While they are being treated, me and my bf helped them register, the aunt who is an Australian left her passport in hotel..so she gave me her driving license instead. I asked my bf go and accompany his family while i do the registation..I know he is very worried..he loves his mum very much... We went for dinner that night, as a farewell dinner to her aunty and her ang moh frens, also to “makan selamat”. I tink my bf's mum is very tough and brave, she still can ask the nurse wat type of bandage they have and pick what she wants..LOL...and after her stitch, instead of lying down, she sat up..and this morning she went for a jog!@@!..LOL..but my mum is tough as well..i tink mums are all tough hor.. For me, i cant bear pain...i will cry when in too much pain..lousy me..:-P

V for Vendetta

When i first look at the title of this movie...i was thinking huh?A for apple?Z for Zorro?V for Vendetta?*groan* Another story about some person who can fight and move like Keanu Reeves in “The Matrix”. But the review had high rating, and the introduction said it was about a TERRORIST and his ally (Natalie Portman). HMMM. That interests me...and since I don't want to watch other movies showing last night, we went ahead for V. And I didn't regret a bit at all. I was so into the story line, it was very good. Towards the ending i almost drop a tear. It was touching. I personally think this movie should win some award. I really recommend people to watch this movie. 5 stars from me.

My inner child is SAD!

The last sentence is quite true.

Your Inner Child Is Sad

You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.

You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

LOL!! Is this true?dunno..

WAH!

Your Hidden Talent

You are both very knowledgeable and creative.

As long as you don't stop working on your dreams, you'll get there.

Does this mean i'm "suoi"?LOL

Your Luck Quotient: 47%

You have an average luck quotient.

There's been times when you've been extremely lucky... but also times when you've been very unlucky.

You probably know that you can make your own luck in life, if you're open to it.

So listen to your intuition as much as you can. It's right more often than you might expect.

I knew i'm not right for IT

My choices of study last time when my dad asked m was photgraphy...BUT he discouraged me..*sob* then i was thinking mayb some designing/ psychology?but all need lots of $$..*sigh*

Your Scholastic Strength Is Innovating

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Try this..Quite fun

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart.

In love, you feel the most alive when your partner is patient and never willing to give up on you.

You'd like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

BORED

I was so bored at work this week, as there's nothing to do for now, I'm finished everything last week. I continue to test the another system, but found no bug for me to debug, i followed up an error with a customer yesterday and that was it..*sigh*

To make matter worse, the 2 most people i chatted with (via quickmesseger, fyi quickmessenger only works within intranet mostly, where u used pc names to send) are away on a training. Can't use ym/ msn as it is track-able by our company proxy, and icq is too risky.

Cooking curry is not easy

I've promised my bf i will cook him curry since like last year ..LOL

So on Sunday morning, we went to the market to buy our supplies for curry. I had to call my mum to make sure i didn't miss anything.

We decided to cook lamb curry. We searched through whole kenyalang market and only managed to find 3 brinjals!! i wonder why, but my bf was determined to find some brinjals for me..as i love to have them in my curry...:-)

so we found some brinjals at upwell supermarket along jln song as we went there to get our mutton.:-)

Later i found out that cooking good curry is not easy, i like my curry to be hot enough. So beside the curry paste...i needed some other ingredients as well.Luckily i had my mum as my sifu..:-)

I love my mum's curry, it is the best!

So, with my mum's guidance, soon, the curry aroma filled the house...so nice..i'm damn proud.

With a whole pot of curry, there's extras for me to bring for lunch on the next day and give some for my bf. :-) my bf came to take it after he had his usual Sunday Basketball session..

The photo is a bit blur though...but it sure smell nice..:-) *proud*
Saturday Breakfast

We had breakfast the Italian way this saturday. We cooked it ourselves. *wink* but my bf boiled too much fetuccine...my sauce not enough..LOL ..

but my mango loves it...:-p

She was just 15

The nite before yesterday, i answered a call from aunty Susan, she was looking for my mum but mum was out. So when mum was back, i asked to call Aunt Susan back. But she didn't pick up her phone. So she called her other colleague to find out, as my mum rarely receive a call that late from a colleague. After talking on the phone. She told us Aunty Susan's youngest daughter passed away that day. I was shocked! How could that be, she's still so young. I asked my mum wat happened to her. She's not sure.
The next day, my mum told me Aunty Susan's daughter passed away because of Sudden Death. She went to school as usual that day, went home and felt a bit sick, she took a nap and cough a bit. After a while, the dad notice how come the daughter became so quiet. He wanted to wake her up, but Aunty Susan said better let her take her rest in peace. Around 5pm, Aunty Susan starts to cook dinner, and suddenly heard a very loud choking noise, she rushed to her daughter's room. Shocked to find her mouth covered with white foam. They quickly rush her to hospital but the doctor said it was too late. :-(
She was so young, just 15. :-((( An advise to all is take good care of our health. Don't hesitate to go and see a doctor if u suspect anything.
Take care. Exercise more, eat healthier and be more optimistic.

Health Conscious

My bf and i decided to eat healthier, an dindirectly save money and have more cooking experience. So we decided to cook breakfast on Saturdays and keep having breakfast out once a month.

And on every monday, i will cook lunch for 2, and we will eat my cooking. LOL.On on Tues, i will bring own lunchbox and eat in office.:-P

We started last last Saturday. And our theme were American Breakfast.LOL...it was easiest ma..actually if you do read my prev post, there's one about my bf making me american breakfast...and i ever cooked breakfast for him as well (e.g porridge)
we went shopping on the nite before, and my bf insist on the hash browns although i said its actually like french fries. But it was good wor...mm..

Our american breakfast
Home Made Garlic Bread..*thumbs up*

My bf wanted to cook me porridge for breakfast last saturday. He was busy preparing on friday nite, chopping chicken, boiling it and etc. And finally put everything into slowcooker and cook it overnight. So on Saturday morning, went to his house for breakfast. He took out a plate, put in some kikoman (dunno spelling correct bor)soy sauce, scoop the porridge onto my plate, and sprinkle on with some chopped tung cai and garlic oil (he actually chopped the garlic!)..

*talking about kikoman soy sauce, my bf's mum only buys that brand, she said healthier..

my bf cooked this chicken porridge.

I love the texture, very soft!

Since today is a monday, i brought lunch and heat it up in office, then redsponge, fel and mr.redsponge came and tried to have a peep on wat i have brought. I won't let them. LOL..so here i load up one of the dish and let them see lah. I wanted to use chicken meat with the broccoli, but mum not buying any chicken since the ourbreak of bird flu.HMM...and we are not suppose to heat non halal food with the microwave also..so i've replaced the chicken meat with hotdogs..LOL!

I found out that some lessons in life are not really applicable in work like, when ppl did some mistake, they deserve 2nd chance, when ppl did wrongly in their work, they are given a bad record. Don't misunderstood its me in this case, its just stories I collect frm around me.

I'm only 23 (will be 24 this yr, but not yet bday, so I'm still 23..mauhaha) this yr, but i feel like 27. Mayb its because i started to work early. I started work after finishing degree, at the age of 20. Redsponge said i “ming ku”..LOL..but earning money early is a gd thing for me. I came from a middle class family, my parents are people who keep tight to their hard earn money, they wont spend on anything that is unnecessary. Bermanja-manja with them also won't get them to buy what i want. So being a vain girl i am, its good for me to earn my own money and pay for my own stuff (clothes, bags, shoes, HP bills, CC bills, etc) Of cos I spent my hard earned money carefully also. Now, my mum keep borrowing shoes, bags n etc from me.

I personally think there should be a lot of preparation before one stepped into the workforce. My 1st job was not a really tough 1, the only thing is its very far, and i had no internet access, my boss is always not in, and its long working hours there. So i changed job after 3 mths. A change i thought was a bad decision at 1st, but realise the hidden life lessons in it.

My 2nd job was not an easy one. It was full of obstacles, office polictics, gossiping, double-standards by the boss, betrayals, and so on. Seems scary lei.But its true. At least it true for me who had just started to work. I dread the thought of going to work every morning when i need to go to work, unknowing wat lies ahead before me.Can't run also, cos i'm tied to 1 yr contract. I was depressed at work. I binged. YES, i gained a lot of weight there. I just can't wait for one year to pass. I learnt how to survive here, it help me grow. At last my chance came, i planned my time carefully, and sent out my job applications. A month later, i was called for interview. I had another interview after that, and i got the job. I tendered in my resignation. But instead of slacking of at work since i'll be leaving anyway, i decided to leave gracefully, i tried to hand over my stuff as best as i could to the staff who will replace me. I finished all jobs in hand. I offered help to my boss when he needs it. On my last day at work, i got quite a few goodbye emails, most were very touching. I sat on my chair, n thought back on the people who had helped me, who didn't look down on me, who offered their friendship when I needed it. I made friends frm different age groups here. I learnt that we need to ask to be given answer. I was a very introvert person when i was younger, but i slowly crawled out frm the invisible shell i built. Am still crawling today though. I built it too thick liao..LOL.

As for my current job, I met pinkcotton and redsponge, wen n fel while working here. I found gd friendship here. He found me here*keke* (pinkcotton must say i bey siao lee liao after reading this sentence) :-p Its a challenging job, it can sometime be frustrating and time consuming, but which job is easy?NONE. Which working place has NO office politics?NONE as well. But at least everywhere i work, I found friends. Friend are those who are there for you when u need it. Well, who are there for most of the times lah..LOL!!

Until next time.Cya!~

Sri Shan Curry & Such

I keep coming back to this place. Why?because of this:

YUMMY CURRY LAMB! Its SPICY, nice and tender!
Chocolates

Jackie gave me 6 mini chocolates of different tastes, actually its 5 chocs and 1 jelly- like candy.

Lindt. Its sounds very familiar to me. Now where did i hear about this brand?hmm

The jelly-like candy

Oh ya, it was Jackie's engagement last Vday. And this is the candy box. Nice hor

VDAY

I know its a bit late for this entry, but since redsponge and pinkcotton was writing it, plus since i'm free now, i shall blog about it too.KEKE.

My bf was very secretive about our Vday celebration. He won't tell me wat he had planned.

so on the very day, the 1st thing i asked when i got in his car is "Where are we going?" He said We will go Green Rd eat moi, the i asked back " Green RD got place eat moi meh?" Then i notice he was heading towards pending, then i said "eh, grn rd is the other way lah", the he said "OOOHH, wrong way, bo pien, we go pending eat sea food lah"...then i notice he took another route, the.n i asked him again. This time he keke said "ohh, another wrong turn, bo pien, we go crown tower lo. Then i knew where he want to bring me liao.

When we arrived, the car park was full.A wedding going on mayb? Then we proceeded to Tempayan, my cols dun really like Tempayan bcos of a previous unpleasant lunch.LOL..but i tink its rather nice this time wor. It has to be nice, its like RM70 per person!!so $!

We were 1st to arrive. 2 other couples arrived soon after that. My bf chose Tempayan bcos he said he's sure that we will have more privacy and there wont be lots of ppl.

we get to choose our own main course frm 3 selections, i forgot the names, but it has love word in it. But actually it was beef, grilled salmon n chicken breast. I chose beef, my bf chose grilled salmon. :-)

we had our appetisers 1st. It was a dish with prawns n mussels. I dun really like mussels, but since its rm70 per person, i just eat it anyway lah..LOL

then we had pumpkin n carrot soup.I 4got the actual name. I'm sure its has a mushy name for it. The soup was BRAVO!
You can actually see the two tones of the different vege. I like the pumpkin side more, so i finish up the carrot side first , n sip the pumpkin side slowly. NICE!

My beef was nice oso, its not hard, it has cheese btw the chunks, there were to piece u see, n in btw was a cheese!i love cheese! But the photo i took of it was dark so i wont put it up here...:-p

my cocktail n white wine, the cocktail is complimentary for all ladies..:-)

Finally, our dessert!!Tiramisu!!Tiramisu is not one of my fav, but i tried it anyway, and it was NICE! its was soft n creamy..yumm..

I brought a chocolate bar with liquor filling that i had bought frm Johor, but we were too full to eat that. :-p

After dinner, we took photos, we walked here n there to take photos, but only a few spots was bright enough. I tink we were the only active couple, moving here n there, talking loud2. LOL

Anyway, it was a very memorable dinner.

After that, it's gift exchange time!

I painted something for him.KEKE..redsponge n pinkcotton n not to 4get wen have requested me to show them THE painting. So here it is:
Ok, pinkcotton probably will laughed now. not sure about the other 2. mayb they'll laugh too. The flower petals is finger painted by me, the rest i use brush though.

The painting was NO ordinary paining. There's a secret BEHIND it.KEKE. Besides this i got him a perfume too.

I wont tell here wat i got frm him, as pinkcotton, redsponge, fel n wen oredi knew wat i got.:-)

I have my own chatterbox now!!

So happy!!because of pinkcotton, i have my own chatterbox as well!
My CNY holidays

This should be the busiest CNY i ever had. For the first 3 days, i went for visiting. A lot of visiting. The weather was clear for these days, a bit too hot perhaps. Then i thought of my previous years of CNY celebrations. I always sit in house only at those times, rusting, as I have very protective parents, and I was not allowed to drive also. But now i can drive as long as mum's not using her car, and I have more friends to hang out with now. I am more happy now. Besides, now i have a special someone that my parents approved of as well. :-) Well, this special some one also pandai ambil hati my parents laaa..LOL

We went to watch "Fearless" on the 4th day of CNY, after visiting one of my bf's fren's house. She served us absolute Vodka with sprite (maybe there's a name for this drink?) and it tasted not bad..

"Fearless" was one of those worth to watch movie available on the market now. I learnt a few moral lessons from the movie, that is not to be too "hao seng" (want to win always), as the act will hurt those closes to you. That we should always be modest, and think b4 you leap. And that a friend in need, is trully a friend indeed. In the movie, Huo Yuan Jia (Jet Li) lost his loved ones and everything after he accidentally beat a rival to death, as the opponent's god son revenge on him by killing his mother and only daughter. He was devastated, and ran away from home. He was enlightened about life at a small village and went back home. Every one has left him. But his housekeeper is still there waiting for him..and his childhood friend willing to sell of his business, just to help him extablish a martial arts school to help the country. Well what i wrote is only a summarised version. Go catch the movie, its worth it.

Hainan Street Restaurant

My Bf and I found a new eatery at RHB plaza, near to BDC's church.

The entrance

We went there once before to eat their Hainan Chicken Rice. Not bad, but i still prefer the one near The Cave.

Too bad i didn't take the photo of the chicken rice but teh roasted one tasted better. Today we went back to try the other dishes. My bf ordered dry curry mee, and i ordered honey char siew mee.

While waiting for our food to arrive. We had our drinks 1st.

Hot Teh Tarik and Teh Si Peng for him

Honey Char Siew Mee

looks like kolo mee hor..in fact kolo mee tasted better..the char siew is fatty.. *uweks*

Dry Curry Mee

It actually tasted better than the Char Siew Mee. Reminded me of my mum's curry, but of course my mum's is better cos its spicier.

Well, all of this cost us Rm13.30.

Linnaeus la Dim Sum a.k.a Dim Sum ala Siu Keung

Refering to pink cotton's recent entry on Random Musings, we had our CNY reunion lunch among our own group at LT restaurant, Kuching. Its buffet style, all you can eat for less than rm20. They serve a variety of food. When we arrived, most of the tables are occupied with people.

My 1st round:

After this 1st round, my bf and I wanted to try the dim sum and we found a very interesting dim sum. Behold...jeng...jeng ...jeng!!!

VOILA!
Linnaeus la Dim Sum a.k.a Dim Sum ala Siu Keung:

Well, I lost most of my appetite after that but my mouth is still itchy, so we went to the other section (where we are sure they r not using siu keung as ingredient in the dish). Here's my 2nd plate of food:

Well, i got pick some food frm my bf's plate as well..:-p

Well, if you like linnaeus aka siu keung, you may find it at LT restaurant..:-p...Bon apetit!

Alert!!!

My bro is back from holiday and he just told me a piece of news. One day, his 3 male friends were walking on the Bukit Bintang's LRT's bridge, when they are approached by 10 or more ah Bengs. Huge ah bengs. These ah bengs then separate the 3 by putting they arms around their shoulder and brought them to a corner. I think they analyse which of the 3 is richest and they threatened him, by saying if he doesn't go to the ATM machine and take out his money, the other 2 will die in a terrible way.He has no chance of retaliating, the culprits are huge. So he obeyed and took out rm1500. The ah bengs also took their HPs!!I asked my bro, how come no one suspected anything and go help?He replied "Who Dares?" HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMM....Ppl are getting ignorant and selfish now. What happened to the harmonious place we lived in once?Bergotong royong, tolong-menolong, i seldom hear these words anymore...i guess ppl just stop bothering now. Stop caring. Stop believing. HHMM

Anyway, take care, even during broad day light!

I learnt a new word today.

Rescind :

Lagu Rakyat "Bangau oh Bangau"

When i saw my boss walked pass my cubicle this morning, i thought of a song we used to sing as schooling kids. Its called "Bangau Oh Bangau".

Bangau oh bangau,
kenapa engkau kurus?

Macam-mana aku tak kurus,
ikan tak mahu timbul.
ikan tak mahu timbul.

Ikan oh ikan,
kenapa engkau tak timbul?

Macam-mana aku nak timbul,
rumput panjang sangat.
rumput panjang sangat.

Rumput oh rumput,
kenapa engkau panjang?

Macam-mana aku tak panjang,
kerbau tak makan aku.
kerbau tak makan aku.

Kerbau oh kerbau,
kenapa tak makan rumput?

Macam-mana aku nak makan,
perut aku sakit.
perut aku sakit.

Perut oh perut,
kenapa engkau sakit?

Macam-mana aku tak sakit,
makan nasi mentah.
makan nasi mentah.

Nasi oh nasi,
kenapa engkau mentah?

Macam-mana aku tak mentah,
api tak mahu menyala.
api tak mahu menyala.

Api oh api,
kenapa engkau tak mahu menyala?
Macam-mana aku nak menyala,
kayu api basah.
kayu api basah.

Kayu oh kayu,
kenapa engkau basah?

Macam-mana aku tak basah,
hujan timpa aku.
hujan timpa aku.

Hujan oh hujan,
kenapa timpa kayu?

Macam-mana aku tak timpa,
katak panggil aku.
katak panggil aku.

Katak oh katak,
kenapa panggil hujan?

Macam-mana aku tak panggil,
ular nak makan aku.
ular nak makan aku.

Ular oh ular,
kenapa nak makan katak?

Macam-mana aku tak makan,
memang makanan aku
memang makanan aku......

Feeling Blue

*sigh* This is what i feel lately. Blue. Is it because of hormon imbalance? Is it because of pressure?I don't know..

Every time when i heard the word blue, it reminds me of a funny encounter my bro's friend had. This is what he told me:

My bro's friends were lepak-ing at Petaling Street one day. They were minding their own business, without interupting the rest of the street's patronisers....When suddenly a tall black guy (a nigerian) approached them slowly. They did not suspect anything at first...until...suddenly, he pulled them into the darker part of the street, looking them in the eyes, while his hands slowly reaching down...............
