New Kitchen

Well, its not that new actually. Been using for more than a month already. My original kitchen was really small, and on the right side of the house. Can hardly cook in it.

Last yr, around Dec ( yes i know, very late already) the extension work started from the study room. And it didn't finalise even until CNY. So after CNY, the workers came to do the final touches.

When everything was done, we looked into the design of the Kitchen. We were intro-ed by a fellow colleague to a contractor who can do the cabinets for us. We told the guy our idea. He told us, he can finish it in less than a month. And so he did. *thumbs up*

JENG JENG..come see..

This is before we "zhng" the place.

After looking around. We manage to get the perfect lighting at a very reasonable pricing @ 3rd mile and also bar stools from my friend @ Beetex.

The wall tiles may look plain white here. But up close, it looks like this.

Nice right? I like it alot.

Cantik! Alot ppl who saw the protruding beam on the roof say it spoiled the view. So I wanted to change this perspective, by adding a nice light, making it one of the centre of attention.

The island.

The hood and the hob. We bought Dragonfly hood after consulting friends of ours who had hood at home. And they all used Dragonfly. For the hob, we picked Zenne KGH201. And the hob is really powerful. You will know why if you read on.

Now our idea for the kitchen didn't just end here. There's a wall near between the windows and the door, which has uneven patches because the painting job was done when the cement is not thoroughly dried. So like the beam, I want to make the ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.

First, I took photo of the wall. Then I did this with photoshop.

I showed it to Oren and RedSponge and of course to Oink. And the comments i got was:

on design no. 1
oink: butterfly so big.
rs : very you.

on design no. 2
oink : the butterfly doesn't blend in with the rose.
rs : can paint my bedroom wall?

on design no. 3
oink : again, the butterflies doesn't seem to blend in.
rs : later at night, if you don't on light, you might be shocked to death, thinking whats that black thing on the wall. (-.-!!!)
rs : see, you even had the ridsect ready for the butterflies (CIS)
Oren : Your flower and butterflies cannot grow in your kitchen cos its hot. (WAT THE!! ROF)

on design no. 4
they all like it. So no. 4 it is.

First, we print the roses out using 2 A0 papers.

Then, oink cuts out the area where the wall will be painted.

Then the whole thing is paper taped to the wall. And Oink sponged on the color I picked on the cutout area. After that, the papers are removed, and Oink used a brush to smooth the edges and refine it.

Master at work 'x'

Master checking my design with the laptop to make sure the lines are correct.
AHAHHA

and TADAA! The real thing!

Closer..looks pretty neat from afar.

BUT, if you move closer..

AHAHAHAH!! WHAT THE!! I asked the Master why the smudges, and the Master who drew it replied "AIYO! you don't understand, this is called art ma..有线条的美。"

WHAT THE..AHHAHAHA

Really happy with the kitchen. I said to Oink,"You know? The kitchen is the nicest part of the entire house" ROF.

And for the first ever dishes I cooked in the new kitchen were...

Burnt spam and belacan kangkong. AHAHAHAHHAHA! I bought the expensive Tulip brand spam and it tasted not even half as good as the one made in China. CIS.

I was not familiar with the cooking hob, and before I knew it, most of my spam slices got burnt 'x' REALLY POWERFUL. 'x'

and of course, from there, I got familiarized with my hob and can cook better dishes.

Some of the many breakfasts.

I invited family members to come for a "kitchen-warming" party on Labour Day. Where I will cook the dishes, and they will be my guinea pigs honored guests.

No.1 :
Salted Prawn. By the time all the guests arrived, it has turned soggy and the prawn soaked up a lot of the saltiness from the coarse salt.

no. 2 : Grilled Lamb Shoulders.

no. 3 : Simple Mix Vege

No. 4 : Steamed Fish

No. 5 : Stir- Fry "Q Cai"

no. 6 : Salad

No. 7 : Pork Leg Stew. The most popular dish for the night.

Money Bouquet

I made Rocher Bouquet for Selina's birthday last month. So for mother's day, I wanted to help Oink do something special for his mum, my mother in law.

So I made a money bouquet.

You will need $ of course. The more the bigger the bouquet. ROFL.

This is how one stalk will look like.

And this is Mango trying to sabotage it.CIS

This is how the final product looks like.

A closer look. What do you think? Good idea eh? Its easier to make this compared to the Rocher Bouquet. You can find out how to make a money bouquet here. A little tips though, try not to use a lot of our RM5 notes. Its more difficult to curl the corners compared to our normal paper notes.

First Ever Handmade Ferrero Rocher Bouquet

Selina's Birthday is coming up. My SIL and I was discussing one day what to give her.

She suggested why not a Rocher Bouquet?

Now, I have never done ANY bouquet before.

It took me 1 night to think about how to do the "stalk" and "petals" AAHAHA

But finally I manage to complete all the stalks of Rochers in two nights.

This is how 18 stalks looked like before I wrap it. It may look simple, but its not as easy as you think. All the sewing and cutting and cello-taping.

Hmm, not very satisfied with my wrapping (the stalks are too short). But at least its nice and presentable. So here is my first ever hand made Ferrero Rocher bouquet.

Happy Birthday Selina!

There's some SICK bastard(s) out there

My man was happy that I woke up earlier to make him a nice breakfast. We ate happily, heartily.

It was when he was opening the front gate that I heard him yell "F$$K!!"..followed by "不知道谁这样变态!"

Of course I was curious and ask him what happened from the front door. You see, recently we bought a kitchen hood for our new kitchen (will blog about it soon), and we didn't want to keep the big box that came with it. When we tidied and cleaned our new kitchen last weekend, arranging stuff into our new kitchen cabinet, we threw away some unwanted items which includes plastic containers (we had lots of them), expired goods, biscuits (that I don't want to eat anymore, so..into the box they go 'x'), and when I was making dinner, I threw garlic skins into the box 'x', and a broken light bulb.

SO

There I was standing at the door, asking Oink what happened.I can't really hear clearly of what he said, he was outside. But I heard "Box....don't know who...and left the garbage..." But from where I was standing, I can see the broken light bulb lying on the road. So I thought, may be the garbage truck worker didn't lift the box properly, and the broken light bulb fell out of it or something.

I need to get to work by then, so I turn back to get my bag, my car key, got into the car, started the car, reverse. And that's when I saw the horrible horrible sight! The big box was gone alright. But the content (the rubbish) we put inside, are left strewn on the road! Someone SICK-TMD-ASSHOLE took the box, and left our rubbish right at where we left the box! Oh the rain soaked biscuits! The bottles of expired goods! All there! T-M-D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looked like a mini dump site area! ARGGGHH..

Its April Fool!

BUT I totally forgot to fool anybody!

I am just too demotivated at work this whole week that all I look forward to was lunch break and the time to go home. :D!!!

Anyway, although I was very demotivated, I managed to finish my targeted workload for the week. Am happy for that. But my most productive moment was when I was photoshopping a butterfly as wall decor for my new kitchen. I was damn excited when doing the editing work. How I wish I can have half the passion for my job. 'x'!

Laksa @ Li Yuan Cafe, Jalan Song

We first tried this place out of curiosity. Bored of the usual breakfast places. We decided to try this place.

They have only 2 stalls. Laksa & Kolo Mee. For the first visit, we tried the Laksa. It's quite good. Back then, you can count the customers with your fingers. We went back a few times after that. Since its very near to our house. And now, for most of the time we were there, its almost full. Once Oink tried the kolo mee. Nothing special. We don't think its good also.

Sorry, we don't have the photo for the Laksa. AHAHAH. Always realize we forgot to take the photo half way into eating.:-p

Li Yuan Cafe is at one of the small shops behind Precint 88.

If there's a will, there's a way

I don't brush Mango's teeth. Instead I buy her Pedigree Dental Stix from time to time, which claims to prevent tartar buildup.

Mango loves her Dental Stix. If she sees me going into the store room, she will follow me and hoping I will give her one.

So that weekend, the packet of Dental Stix was in a big plastic bag beside her cage. She manage to catch the scent. And this SNEAKY PUG!She actually manage to get it out of the big plastic bag. There was 3 good stix left it the packet. And the opening was secured with a rubber band. I don't know how she did it, she manage to remove the rubber band and get her prize.

By the time Oink found out, one and a half of the 3 stix were already gone. Needless for me to say that Oink gave her a good scolding after that, topped with some butt slapping. Calling her a thief.

He then close the door to the room to prevent her from doing it again. Now...This happened in the morning.

Later in the afternoon, I actually opened to door to get something, and left the door open. I went to the kitchen and when I came out, this is what I saw (thank god camera was nearby).

WHAT THE!! ROFL! OOPS SHE DID IT AGAIN! All 3 stix gone in a day! Oink was furious, again calling her a thief, slapping Mango's butt butt and you know what? She acted like she didn't give a damn, happily chewing her Stix. But when she finished her Stix, Oink was still yelling at her, and what do you know? She came to me for refuge. Hoping I will protect her from Oink. HAHA! Who says pug is the stupidest breed of canine?! My Mango is so bright OK?! AHAHHA.. I told Oink, Mango was not stealing, the Stix are meant for her anyway. At least she put some effort to get what she wants. RIGHT??

Cheezy Station & Young Su's Ice Cream

I've heard of this place from Selina before. So we decided to try. If you know where Jln Song's Young Su's Ice Cream is, this shop is behind/ next to Young Su (depends on which direction you come from).

At first we sit inside. Got aircon ma.

While waiting for our order, I studied menu and spotted this typo. HAHA. Soon enough, we can smell the food they are preparing. Its a small place, the kitchen hood doesn't help much. I don't really like the oily smell. So we moved outside.

Our drinks. I ordered Mineral Water (RM1.2) which turns out to be drinking water, and was given a glass with ice and a slice of lemon. Oink had tea (RM2).

Parmesan Chicken. (RM10++). First bite was not bad. The chips were too oily for me. But I didn't really like it after having a few more bites. Its deep fried, heaty and oily.

Calzone Kiev (RM10++). I like this wayyyy more than the Parmesan Chicken. Look at the size of it compared to Oink's big hand.

If I ever visit here again. I might order this again. It tasted just nice.

After stuffing ourselves with all the food. We moved next door to Young Su's Ice Cream.

This is my first time here. I always wonder what kind of Ice Creams they sell here.

Unfortunately I was too too full.

I would love to try the Yoghurt Ice Cream next time.

And its very very affordable!

I flipped through the menu. The most expensive thing i saw was Korean Ginseng Tea pricing at RM6.5.

We ordered Chocolate Ice Cream blended if I'm not mistaken (RM6)to share.

Its not very sweet. But its refreshing enough.I think this is a good place to hang out with friends.

You can see Young Su if you come from Jalan Urat Mata.

If you come from Jalan Song, Young Su is actually behind Precinct 88, if you are not sure what is Precinct 88, look for Starbucks.

Another Mango Bath Story

Well, I still can't resist. I blog about her bath before. But she's so cute ler..I can't resist to blog about it again. HEEEEEE...

That's her..tired of waiting and decided to sit in the pail.

But once the bucket is full of water, she don't want to sit anymore and stood on her hind legs. LOL!

Read the other Mango Bath story here.

Surprised One Morning

It was my turn to wake up early and feed Mango that morning.

I woke up groggily and grouchily. I was really reluctant to get out of bed. It was drizzling, its so nice for sleeping in. But I don't want my dear Mango to get starved. So I got up anyway.

She heard my footsteps and was making all the "manja" noises. I let her out. And was heading to the door. As soon as I open the door, my half-closed eyes registered something is not right. What is all those white stuff on the floor?

DAMN CAT! Must be playing with the toilet roll we left outside AGAIN! We have 2 suspects. One is the White Persian cat that belongs to one of the neighbors. And another one is a striped cat that looks like he's wearing white socks. But who's the real culprit? I can't believe it! Our house got mess up by a cat on a CNY morning..Don't know whether should I laugh or be angry..

CNY Thingies

After nights of watering, putting chicken shits on it once in a few months...

finally!

FINALLY!

It flowers! Just in time for Chinese New Year too! I proudly display it next to the door, so that everyone who enters can have a good look. :-)

I took this photo one afternoon while I was alone in the house, waiting for my friends to come for visiting. Oink was away playing poker with his friends. I like the combination of colors the cakes and fruits made.

Never say never

Hello there

I hope its not too late to wish you Gong Xi Fatt Chai..if there's anybody still reading :D

I remember when I was a child, primary school age to be exact, I was bullied by a guy. He was really mean. And his surname was SIM. I have forgotten his full name though. And I quickly conclude that all SIM MUST be EVIL. And when I grow up, I WILL NEVER EVER marry a SIM.
And whadda ya know, 10++ years later, I married one *ROFL*

And when I was in my teens. I told people around me, my future Boyfriend MUST NOT be younger than me, not even a day, and cannot be more than 4 yrs older than me. And whadda ya know, a few years later, I married one who is 7 yrs my senior *ROFLLLLL*

SO U KNOW WHAT IS THE LESSON OF THE DAY?

That is never say never

ROFFLLLL~

Waisted post

Alone at home now. So went to look at old photos in my ext hdd. I looked at the photos before I got married.

This is the cheongsam I wore at my Wedding Banquet. Nice? I tried it 2 nights before the wedding to make sure it fits. Was still quite slim back then. That was back in Nov 2007.
Then we went to HK, China, Macau in March 2008. HK food was so good, I keep stuffing food into my face. I came back with extra inches to my waist. BIG MISTAKE. After that hor, I keep giving myself excuses such as, AIYAH, married already, no need keep fit liao lah..'x' BIG MISTAKE 2! The hor, I lazy go exercise also. BIG MISTAKE 3!

Then I bought tickets to Krabi for Oink and I (sept 2008). Bought a bikini. Made a promise to slim back so I will look sexy in the bikini. Even told oren & redsponge I will keep fit. BUT LERRRRR, I didn't do anything, didn't watch what I eat, didn't exercise much.
And I looked back at my Krabi photos, I looked HORRENDOUS!

Booohooohoo..like an elephant lo.

Krabi is a very beautiful place. I feel like I spoiled the whole picture. :(

After that, I joined Tai Chi. Played Badminton. Got back to Yoga. And I can feel that I slowly starting to lose the extras I gained. It's a very very very very slow process though. But at least its better than nothing. At least in my Taiwan photos, I looked sooooo much better compared to the Krabi ones.

I felt slapped on the face when I was looking at my Krabi photos just now. T.T It gave me more motivation to lose weight.

My motto now is to lose more for the upcoming CNY. MUST.BE.DISCIPLINED.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!

TIME FLIES, almost unbelievable.

Today is the first day of 2010, but I want to post about something happened last year.ROFL. A very belated post. I admit. I was lazy. Almost don't want to blog anymore. But when I thought about the joy I will have in the future years when I read back what I wrote, its what motivated me. :)

The date was 20.12.09. And it was a meaningful day.

We went to help at Cheshire's with Selina and MIL.

They needed a Santa. ROFL. First choice was Jee, but too bad he can't fit the costume.

First, lets have lunch. MIL and Selina helping to distribute lunch to the people at Chesire.

After lunch, its time for entertainment.

The one organizing the event is the nice lady in the middle. If not mistaken, her name is Annie. She was the one that sponsored lunch also.

Everybody enjoying themselves. :)

Then we are off on our mission.

Can't help it. Oink is too cute as a Santa.

Oink the Santa giving away presents.

This guy was watching wrestling on TV when we came. AHAHA.

Its good to see them so happy when they get their presents.

After the event at Chesire. We had a break and off we go to SSPCA.

This is what we manage to collect this year. EH! I mean last year. :-p

Not bad eh? Btw, they need a lot of newspaper everyday. So if you have, can send yours over.

Its the most meaningful Xmas I ever had.
